The spectral properties of fresh water are investigated in the article on the basis of remote sensing data. It is clear from the article that the spectral properties are reflected differently in the solid and liquid phases at different wavelengths. This has a great advantage when studying the purity of the water of oceans, seas, rivers and other basins. When a radiant stream passes from air to water, it changes direction depending on the refractive index. Usually, when the Sun is at its Zenith, more rays enter the reservoir, which leads to a longer-range probing of the object. It also became clear that under the influence of temperature, the intensity of radiation of an absolutely black body occurs. It is known that the emission of light by water molecules and ions gets the maximum value at short wavelengths of the visible range. In different ranges and wavelengths of the spectrum, the depth of penetration of electromagnetic waves inside varies. However, since ultraviolet light is absorbed by the atmosphere, the study of the water surface in the ultraviolet range of the spectrum was considered unreasonable. Therefore, it is considered appropriate to use the visible range here.
