Editorial Process
Scientific Works (SW AzUAC) follows a transparent and structured editorial process to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in accordance with the journal's academic and ethical standards.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system in accordance with the Instructions for Authors. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's formatting, ethical, authorship, and submission requirements.
2. Initial Editorial Assessment
Upon submission, each manuscript is checked by the Editorial Office for completeness, compliance with the journal's submission requirements, relevance to the journal's Aims and Scope, and basic academic and ethical standards.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements or fall outside its scope may be returned to the authors or rejected at this stage.
3. Plagiarism and Research Integrity Check
Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text reuse, citation manipulation, and other forms of research or publication misconduct.
Where concerns arise, the journal follows its Research and Publication Misconduct Policy and applicable publication ethics standards.
4. Editorial Evaluation
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the Editorial Board. The editorial assessment considers the manuscript's originality, scientific significance, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal's scope, and overall academic quality.
5. Peer Review
Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are sent for double-anonymous peer review by independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Normally, at least two independent reviewers are invited to evaluate each manuscript.
Further details are provided in the journal's Peer Review Process policy.
6. Editorial Decision
Following peer review, the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor makes an editorial decision based on the reviewers' reports and the overall scientific quality of the manuscript.
Possible decisions include:
-
Accept
-
Minor Revision
-
Major Revision
-
Reject
The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor and is not determined solely by an individual reviewer's recommendation.
7. Revision
When revisions are requested, authors are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a clear response to the reviewers' comments.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
8. Final Acceptance
A manuscript is accepted for publication when the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor determines that it meets the journal's scientific, editorial, and ethical requirements and that any necessary revisions have been satisfactorily addressed.
9. Copyediting and Production
After acceptance, the manuscript undergoes editorial and production processing, which may include language and formatting checks, reference verification, layout preparation, metadata preparation, and other necessary editorial adjustments.
Authors may be asked to review the final version for accuracy before publication.
10. Publication
Accepted articles are published online as part of the appropriate journal issue. Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref where applicable.
Published articles are made freely accessible in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy.
11. Post-Publication
The journal maintains the integrity of the published scholarly record. If significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may publish corrections, retractions, or other appropriate notices in accordance with its Corrections and Retractions Policy.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, validity, and ethical compliance of manuscripts. Financial considerations, institutional affiliations, nationality, gender, religion, political views, or other personal characteristics of authors do not influence editorial decisions.
The journal's editorial process is conducted independently of commercial or financial interests.
