Archiving Policy & Digital Preservation

Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

Scientific Works (SW AzUAC) is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent availability of all published scholarly content. The journal takes appropriate measures to ensure that its publications remain accessible and preserved in the event that the journal ceases publication or its website becomes unavailable.

To support the long-term preservation of its digital content, Scientific Works (SW AzUAC) uses the following preservation and archiving mechanisms:

1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a LOCKSS-based digital preservation service, to preserve and archive published journal content. The system provides distributed preservation of the journal's digital content and supports long-term access to published articles and issues.

2. Institutional Repository

All published issues and individual articles are permanently preserved in the digital archive and institutional repository of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC), where applicable.

3. Author Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the final published PDF version of their articles in institutional or subject-specific digital repositories immediately after publication, subject to applicable copyright and licensing terms.

Articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license may be shared and reused in accordance with the terms of that license.

4. DOI and Persistent Identification

Each published article is assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. The DOI provides a permanent identifier for the article and supports persistent linking, discoverability, and citation.

5. Commitment to Long-Term Access

Scientific Works (SW AzUAC) is committed to maintaining the accessibility and integrity of its published scholarly record over the long term. Digital preservation measures are intended to ensure that published content remains available to researchers, authors, readers, and other users regardless of changes to the journal's website or publishing platform.

Where necessary, the journal may adopt additional preservation or archiving services to strengthen the long-term preservation and accessibility of its scholarly content.
