DECORATIVE COMPOSITIONAL SOLUTION OF MEDIEVAL SAFAVID PALACE CARPETS

The article talks about carpets that were used in the decoration of palaces, especially during the reign of the Safavid dynasty. During this period, the development of Azerbaijani carpet art continued in several directions and had a multifaceted character. So, the traditions of carpet art are continued by individual masters of carpet making. The creative attitude to classical compositions is clearly manifested in the carpets that they knit in traditional spices. At the same time, more and more new compositions and pattern elements appear in carpet weaving. On the other hand, carpet art continues and develops by professional cartoonists. The carpets created by them, woven on the basis of new ornaments and spices, played an important role in enriching classical compositions.
Despite the fact that the compositions, drawings and colors of these carpets sometimes violate the classical canons, various artistic and technical means help to reveal the theme.
