ARTISTIC COMPOSITION OF NAKHCHİVAN TOMBS

The article examines the architectural features of the ancient tombs that enhance the
architectural heritage of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, focusing on their aesthetic qualities
and structural solutions. The main purpose of the article is to trace the evolution of Nakhchivan
architecture from the Eneolithic and Bronze Ages to the present, analyzing the harmony between the
structural and artistic elements of the tombs and highlighting the contributions of the Nakhchivan-
Maragha school of architecture. Methodologically, the study analyzes the aesthetic and technical
aspects of the tombs using historical sources, materials from archaeological excavations, and
architectural theory. Detailed analyses are conducted on the works of Ajami Nakhchivani, particularly
the tombs of Yusif ibn Kuseyir and Momine Khatun, as well as the artistic and structural designs of
the Karabakhlar and Gulustan tombs. The article aims to explore the distinct characteristics of the
Nakhchivan architectural school and to make them accessible to a broader audience.
