the urgent problems of modern architecture. Among them, one of the most interesting cities is Shusha,
which was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2023. In the presented article, for your
attention are some notes about imarets (palaces), the genetic roots of which date back to folk housing.
Historically, palaces - villas and palace complexes were built in medieval Azerbaijan. The
construction of palaces was carried out in cities, no fewer of them were in the suburbs, their choice
was due to the urban situation, the landscape of the area, the presence of a river, a lake.
