PROBLEMS ON RESTORATION OF ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS IN THE LIBERATED CITY OF SHUSHA

Abstract

This article is dedicated to a restoration of architectural monuments located in the liberated city of Shusha. The author was amongst the first group of experts assigned to Shusha in order to study the technical conditions of architectural monuments following the liberation from the Armenian occupation. The author has been to Shusha for several times regarding the restoration and conservation of architectural monuments and conducted a preliminary research, engineering investigation and photofixation on the monuments. Based on the collected materials, the author’s article has suggested proposals on restoration, conservation and use of a part of the monuments destroyed by Armenians, corresponding to their technical conditions and types.
