MODERN IMAGE OF KARABAKH CITIES

Abstract

There is a great need for the creation of “Smart Cities” in Karabakh, turning it into one of the most beautiful regions of Azerbaijan, where the lives of residents are made comfortable and secure, and where urban processes are simplified through mutual information and communication technologies. Today, many developed countries prioritize smart city and smart village projects. In Azerbaijan, conducting research on the implementation of the “Smart City” concept and identifying opportunities for the realization of a pilot project were reflected in the “National Action Plan for the Promotion of Open Government for 2020–2022,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev’s Decree dated February 27, 2020. In one of his speeches, President Ilham Aliyev stated: “As you know, during my participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, I have meetings with dozens of companies. The vast majority of them are technology companies. During these meetings, I observe what innovations and positive developments exist in the world, and I try to attract those companies to Azerbaijan. Therefore, the ‘Smart City’ and ‘Smart Village’ concepts must be developed and implemented.”
