Abstract

Building trends and architectural solutions of a particular historical period can affect the planning structure and create a unified style of the city. The article considers the regularities of the stage-by-stage development of the planning structure of Baku city. There have been revealed the main stages of development, starting from the initial fortification structure and turning during its historic development into a big-sized and most important city of Azerbaijan.
