CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES AND MAIN SUGGESTIONS FOR ELIMINATINGTRAFFIC CONGESTION AND IMPROVING THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM INTHE CITY OF BAKU

Abstract

The level of automobile use in Baku is not so high compared to European and CIS countries,
and this indicator does not constitute the basis of the congestion problem observed in Baku. The
density of the street-road network in Baku city is not adequate for the number of vehicles. That is, the
road infrastructure is at a low level and the road density is low. Also, parking spaces are limited and
the number of private cars is high. This study aims to identify conceptual approaches to eliminate
traffic congestion and improve the transport system in Baku and put forward a number of proposals.
