SOME FACTORS DETERMINING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NON-OIL SECTORIN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

The article emphasizes the importance of industry for ensuring economic development. In
this regard, examples from international experience are given. At the same time, the article
emphasizes that natural-economic advantages have a large share in the formation of the economy,
and in our modern era, scientific-technical progress, innovations and investments have an important
role. In order to ensure economic proportionality and competition, the Hirishman-Herfindahl index
is calculated for various sectors of the economy, and in this regard, we have used it in our research.
The result shows that there is no centralization in the country's economy in general, but there may be
certain negative and unpleasant trends in the mining industry in general economic development. The
purpose of the article is to show the approaches related to the development of the non-oil sector and
evaluate the current situation of the non-oil sector. The results of the article - in terms of the potential
development of the non-oil sector, there are low levels of concentration tendencies, which can be an
obstacle to the development of competition in the country and the creation of new jobs. The
Hirschman-Herfindahl index was calculated in terms of the originality of the article- the sustainability
of the development of the non-oil sector and the development of the national economy.
